Quality control application to materials and technologies used is a prerequisite for any activity aimed towards customer satisfaction.

      Continuously increasing demands on manufactured equipment, requirements of technical standards and customer specifications necessitated establishment of own material laboratory in ZVU in 1954. The laboratory was granted the authorized material test laboratory status already in 1957.

      After 1990, test plants and laboratories rating has been modified to comply with the new approach adopted in Western Europe pursuant to EN 45001 series European standards. Required criteria of this standard was fully complied with at ZVU and the national accreditation organization – Czech Accreditation Institute (Èeský institut pro akreditaci) – issued the first certificate of accreditation to the material test laboratory on September 29, 1994. Since then, the material test laboratory has been accredited continuously.

      The material test laboratory of ZVU Chemie a.s., newly named EXCON Steel a.s., has been also registered by Czech Society of Material Test Plants and Labs under No. 006.

      Current accreditation certificate was issued by the Czech Accreditation Institute pursuant to the provisions of CSN EN ISO/EIC 17025 standard on May 5, 2003

Established quality management system of the material test laboratory of Excon Steel, a. s. guarantees reliability of the services provided to customers.

      The material test laboratory has been included into the quality management system pursuant to the provisions of EN ISO 9001:2000 standard, which has been certified by RW TÜV. The quality assurance system of the material test laboratory has been also verified within the framework of ASME accreditation and RW TÜV assessment for production of pressure vessels, steam boilers, heat exchangers, and tanks in accordance with ASME Code, AD 2000 Merkblatt standards, and other technical rules.

    Manufactured or supplied test samples are tested according to specified test types at the following workplaces of the material test laboratory:

  2. corrosion tests laboratory
  3. metallographic laboratory
  4. lmechanical tests laboratory

The material test laboratory of Excon Steel, a. s. disposes of own sample preparation facility.

      The material test laboratory of EXCON Steel, a.s. performs tests of raw metallic materials, intermediate materials and products, additional welding materials, and weld joints. In this area, we offer execution of the following tests performed in accordance with valid international standards and technical rules on the basis of internal analytic procedures:
